We truly appreciate you traveling to celebrate with us and want to make your journey as smooth as possible. We recommend booking tickets early, as prices tend to rise.

Israel’s main international airport, Ben Gurion, is about a 30-minute drive or 15-minute train ride from Tel Aviv.

Traveling with El Al

We recommend booking with El Al, as they’ve maintained flights during this period. If El Al isn’t available from your origin, consider booking elsewhere, such as a European city, and then a separate El Al flight to Israel. In some cases this might be more affordable. Remember to check visa and passport requirements if you choose this method of travel.

Traveling from South Africa

If you are traveling from South Africa we recommend that you book with Ethiopian Airlines as they have proven to be consistently affordable and reliable.

Updated rules for South African travelers

South Africans are now required to apply an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA-IL) before their trip. This should usually be approved immediately, in some cases it may take up to 72 hours (1-3 business days). It is advised to apply well in advance of your trip to account for any processing delays.

Hotel Options

We’ve selected a few hotels that are in fantastic locations and would suit varying budgets. However, if none of these are applicable, any location in Tel Aviv City Centre makes for a convenient and exciting holiday! Airbnbs are also always a great option and can be more budget friendly. Please reach out to us if you have any questions or need help with picking the perfect spot for your trip!

Transport

Bus

Buses are the most common and convenient mode of transport in and around Tel Aviv, as well as between cities. Use the Moovit app or Google Maps to find your route. Buses don’t accept cash, so we recommend using the HopOnRav-Pass app to pay by scanning the QR code inside the bus after boarding—don’t worry, you can pay once seated! Some locations even offer free rides on Shabbat.

Taxi

To get around the city or country by taxi, we recommend using the "Gett" app, Israel's version of Uber, available in English.

Train

Trains are a fast, traffic-free option. Use Google Maps, Moovit, or the Israel Railways app (in English) to plan your route.

Rent a Car

There are a number of car rental companies available with various locations around Israel, including the airport, for pick-up and drop-off. However, traffic and parking can be a rather testing adventure, and so avoiding having to deal with this may be best. If you are planning on adventuring up and down the country, a car can be helpful, however there are public transport options if you don’t feel like dealing with the roads.
